Here’s a fascinating new book by Hampshire Cricket Society stalwart Alan Edwards – from which I learn that on this day, 15 June, in 1885 Hampshire’s cricketers played for the first time at Northlands Road. Meanwhile, tomorrow is the 90th anniversary of one of Hampshire’s greatest victories – at Edgbaston, having followed on 15 all out.
