This Blog is part of Hampshire Cricket Heritage – an independent group that works with Hampshire Cricket at the Rose Bowl on all aspects of the history of Hampshire cricket. We will use this Blog to update information about the history, new records, anniversaries and other matters of interest. My name is Dave Allen, I am Hon Curator at the Rose Bowl and I maintain the site .

Looks like this could be a wonderful resource for all those with a deep affection for Hampshire Cricket. Congratulations to all involved.
Until recently, at least, it has been possible to trace the ‘genes’ of a county in the style and particular spirit of the cricket played there in successive generations.
With the game evolving so fast and with the loosening of the links between player and club, that inheritance, that equivalent to the ‘terroir’ in cricket, is threatened.
Bloggs and forums like these could counteract this.

Ive just signed up. What a great site this is. Its the area that is not covered by local newspapers and media. The soul of Hampshire cricket. Except when Dave Allen is talking to Kevin James…..
