Here’s a strange story and not what you might have expected from the headline:

Adam London & Josh Davey are leaving Middlesex. The story is on here because the pair guested for Hampshire v Bangladesh ‘A’ earlier in the season when that fixture came the day before Hampshire’s YB40 semi-final v Lancashire.

Hampshire have yet to announce departures, beyond Griffiths and Mascarenhas

Radio Solent reporting that Will Smith (Durham) will become a Hampshire player today . . .

Interesting – I had heard a rumour. So, recently 1-5: Adams, Carberry, Dawson, Vince and Ervine with Terry in reserve and Wheater beginning to be a batsman rather than a wicket-keeper. Next year, McKenzie may return for part of season so I am wondering then where will Smith bat? Who will miss out? We shall have to wait and see. Of course he also has experience as a captain ….
