12 wides and one over from Ervine proved costly.

And the most expensive bowlers were Edwards and Arafat – although a 1-2 start didn’t help. Adams, Smith and Dawson the stars, Wood and Vince were ok. It seems pace off the ball worked but (again) no Briggs.

Dale Benkenstein’s interview with Kevan James blamed particularly the number of extras and being (Dawson excepted) “pretty poor with the ball”.

bet they said that after Pompey’s game.
Still got a T20 final to look (?) forward to

Didn’t realise wides cost 3 runs in the RL cup

Comment by Paul

No not three Paul, unless they also ran. A wide that goes to the boundary for example, counts 5

Comment by pompeypop

Just coincidence that there 4 recorded wides against the bowlers

Apologies if this is a repeat – posted on the way back from Bristol but seems not to have appeared. Glos needed 51 from 5 after we got Klinger out. Arafat’s next went for 17, Edwards’ next for 19. Then it was 15 off 3! The 19 over included Edwards’ second 5 wides of the game: the first came on a free hit after he was no balled. Clearly didn’t like it and got too confrontational with the umpire. I hope this game is all we lose as a result, given the suspended disciplinary punishment.
