Hampshire Cricket History

It won’t be a draw

The weather forecast seems set fair, which suggests that four days against Yorkshire at Headingley should produce a result. There won’t be many betting on Hampshire but it is the case that in matches between the two sides on that ground, Hampshire have one more victory than the home side.

There, that’s cheered you up!

Who will replace Topley – Wood? Wheal? or Crane? Almost sounds like a firm of builders.

PS No toss again today and in the first hour it seemed to suit Hampshire. Meanwhile they did toss at Old Trafford, Notts won, chose to bat and are struggling at 73-4 while at Lord’s, Warwicks (again) chose to field and at lunch Middx are 120-0. Maybe these cricketers don’t always know what might happen.

Really pleased that Chris Wood got the nod……hopefully he can prove his fitness over four days & get a more regular spot.

7 Overs & 1/20 a decent enough start in my book
