He’s spent the night in hospital having broken his leg

The BBC is still reporting that they believe he did it while playing football. The Hampshire website makes no comment on that but describes it as a fractured ankle

Cheers Paul. So DB confirms that it was football. The article also says: “Wood will be fit for Middlesex and it is hoped Ervine is too (he has an X-ray today). But Dawson is out for three weeks, Berg and Topley are unavailable till June and Stevenson is “nowhere near ready”.

But unlike most pre-cricket football injuries, he was off the ball and slipped, so Tommo told us at Headingley

Yet today the coach says:
“We were only 45 seconds away from the end of the game when Fidel went to kick the ball.

“I was just about to get the mitts on for fielding practice when his foot got stuck in the turf and all his weight went over on it.

“There was no-one near him, it was a really freakish fall and there was a loud crack”.

So we now know that he has broken his leg or his ankle either kicking or not kicking a football.

Good job this is the information age or we wouldn’t know what is going on would we?
