Adams has gone early (13-1): six opening partnerships for Hampshire in the Championship so far, with a total of 83 runs at an average just under 14, and a best of 24 (2nd innings v Warwicks).

The BBC reports that in Div One, first innings scores at the start of today average 371 and in Div Two, 375.

Looks like a poor decision to bat at 34-4. The pitch obviously looked better than it actually is.

That’s the new trick – camouflage the pitch

I’m guessing you’re there Tigger? I’m glad I decided against it! The commentators are praising the bowlers (albeit a crucial run out) suggesting it’s been “relentless”. Mind you the good news is that our lowest ever v Lancs is 37 all out (Manchester 1900) so we’ve beaten that …

No Dave, I’m not there, was thinking about going on Tuesday, if its not all over!

I’ve just noticed that in the 8 matches today there were only 2 uncontested tosses. In the 6 matches where there was a toss the away team won all of them and they all elected to bat.

Well almost hit the average Div 1 first innings score….what was it, oh yes 371 .

Well Lancashire may bring the average back up!
