Hampshire Cricket History

Here’s Hoping

As last season taught us, it’s too early to describe today as a ‘Must Win’ but it’s obviously very important – not least in terms of confidence. It might still end in a draw of course (I agree with Mr James in hoping Hampshire’s innings does not last ‘too long’ today) but if Hampshire win, they will move above Surrey and into that block of teams in the bottom third/half. If they lose however they will be somewhat adrift. Hampshire’s outcricket has been excellent in this match so far so let’s hope they can keep it up and then find a hero or two from Best, McLaren, Tomlinson, Ervine, Crane and Dawson. I’m really looking forward to this …

Should be another boring Championship day then with all four results possible. I just wish i could be there.

I’d love McLaren to bowl us to victory and then listen to our management trying to tell us how important the Championship is as he is forced to sit out the Middlesex game to allow a mercenary to come and make a few quid at slog cricket in our colours.
