The Academy have struggled in the Southern League this year but enjoyed a winning draw against Lymington yesterday. The top performance came from Jake Goodwin, seen here hitting out against the Combined Services a couple of weeks ago

Jake scored 129 yesterday, rescuing the Academy from 11-3, and taking them to 228-9. In their turn, they reduced Lymington to 6-4 and 108-8 but couldn’t finish them off. The New Forest side ended on 169-9.

Joe Weatherley took 3-43 but was dismissed without scoring earlier in the day. Lewis McManus (non-striker above) played for Lymington, but he too came back for nought. Maybe they were in sympathy with Hampshire’s captain?

In the top-of-the-table matches, Havant won, but the morning’s leaders, Burridge, were stuffed by South Wilts. In the next division, Portsmouth continue to surprise themselves, winning again (v Basingstoke) to maintain their 100% record.
