For the two matches, tomorrow and Wednesday, Gareth Berg and Joe Weatherley are missing from Hampshire’s XI that played in their last 50 overs match v Middlesex last week. Four players have been added to the other nine: Shahid Afridi (who has now signed for the 50 over season), Tino Best, Tom Alsop (returning from illness) and James Tomlinson. Michael Carberry is still absent with his hand injury.

First day of 2nd XI game against Middlesex at Uxbridge rained off apparently.

I suspected that – thanks. It didn’t show on CricHQ

Gloucester v Hants on Sky TV tomorrow, but the forecast is not promising

This seems fairly typical of the comments I’ve been reading about James Vince – here from Jonathan Agnew on BBC website (after Compton): “Another man who has not taken his chance in the England top order is James Vince, but he will probably be given the Pakistan series to prove he is good enough. Still, that might not be at number five, with the possibility of him moving to three depending on what happens to Compton.”

Lots of suggestions that Scott Borthwick will come in for Compton. If so he could bat three, as he does for Durham, leaving James at five.
