Two run outs in a rear guard action is disappointing

Notts are in trouble. If they lose and Hants v Surrey is drawn then at the end of today, Hants will be 7 and 9 points behind Surrey and Notts respectively with a game in hand on both. Despite second wicket down just after lunch it will be very disappointing if Hants lose this one.

Not sure how we managed it but lose we did!! !98-6 to 201 all out on a good pitch. A few players came out with their heads held high and a few didn’t. Makes the task of avoiding relegation very difficult indeed.

Very disappointing in a gross understatement. Lost last four wickets for three runs in twenty balls. Abysmal.

Very disappointing but I wouldn’t wish to point fingers at Crane or McManus who were two of those last four. There were some poor performances by some players from some of the bowling on the very first morning onwards and a number of senior players – however hard they might be trying – aren’t doing enough. Last year in this same week, McManus and Crane saved us and we escaped. This year they couldn’t – and … ???

Hi. Awful to watch on cricinfo. Heartbreaking. Still a long way to go though. Let’s remain positive and cheer the lads to successfully staying up. Should see part of all remaining first class matches and holidays still booked for a hattrick of last day successes. Sithee at Ageas for the stunning win against Lancashire. Cheers Richard

I agree to a point Dave. I certainly wouldn’t blame the last four victims for the defeat as there were indeed others who should have done better earlier in the game. However it is still very poor to lose four wickets in that fashion even if some of the victims were youngsters or in credit for the way they had played earlier. At key times in games you need mental toughness and we don’t seem to have it.
