Not Quite the Same Old …

Sadly

This time JV didn’t get a start and it wasn’t the same unwise ‘flash’,  although he was caught behind – from a cracking delivery. A number of the pundits thought England should have bowled and that looks like the right call.

Mind you it helps when Pakistan drop catches and take wickets with no balls. They have just taken drinks at the halfway stage today, having bowled 36 overs. At 12 overs an hour it would take teams until 8pm to complete the day’s 96 overs in the Championship (and there has been some spin).

By 6pm they had completed 75 overs. In many respects it’s been a really interesting, enjoyable day but at the scheduled close they were still 15 overs (16.6%) short of the required number.

Maybe the solution would be to ban the captain from the next day’s play?

There may have been some spin but not as much spin as produced by those who tell us that Test cricket is good value for money!
