Second Best

I’ve found a Twitter report that Andy Carter was last man out for the 2nds dismissed by his brother. We got thumped, but I cannot find a third day report or details anywhere on Notts site or CricHQ. Mind you I can’t find any mention of the 2nd XI at all on our site. It might just be me, but if it’s there it’s not the easiest thing to find. So it seems we’re second best to Notts on the field and on-line. Let’s hope they don’t make it three-in-a-row this weekend!

Notts Adult voting membership includes T20 and is £160. Our nearest equivalent is £255, and for many the Car Park is a non-optional add on, which makes the real price more than double theirs.

To be fair you could have had £30 early-bird and £15 direct debit discounts on our £255 full membership fee.

My Championship/One Day Cup membership cost me £145 (with early-bird, direct debit and country discounts) which made it the cheapest in Division One with the exception of Surrey (£134). When you add in the various reciprocal deals I reckon this is very good value but I do take the point about the £90 car park season-ticket which erodes much of the benefit.

The result from Nottingham was a lose by 161 runs with Andy Carter’s brother taking a few wickets….

Full scorecard now on CricHQ.

Notts 398-8 and 270-4
Hants 333-4 and 174 ao.

Brad Taylor got 61 and 87.

In second innings apart from Brad, Duggan 28, Hay 18 and Mr. Extra 17.

Incidentally, we have these two trialists, released by other counties. Andy Carter’s figures were 13-1-56-2 and 11-1-36-1. Griffiths recorded 17-1-79-1 and 13-2-31-1. No thrills there then.

Josh McCoy’s 3-58 in the first innings was followed by 0-46 in the second at almost eight an over. Meanwhile Brad Taylor got runs twice but had no wickets in the first innings and didn’t bowl in the second.

This “Heading” is correct…..

CEEFAX item says Topley out for rest of season now with back fracture….

We certainly know how to sign injury prone players.

Sorry but there is an injury update on players just posted on the beloved website…
