(I’m getting a bit obscure here but this is an album track by Love, who also released an album called Forever Changes …)

Now, back to business. From Bob Murrell

“Tigger and I have just noticed that in the match v Nottinghamshire just finished, we had a total of 7 fifties. This, according to my records, equals Hampshire’s best, they having done it twice before, v Surrey at Bournemouth in 1964 and v Glamorgan at Basingstoke in 1980. Lets hope the good form continues.”
Yes indeed Bob! Cheers both.

Now for something completely different
There is a fairly brief but depressing piece in today’s sports section in The Times. No, it’s not a review of Pompey v Morecambe, it’s Richard Hobson’s “Anger Over Cowardly T20 Review”. Cricket & me? I used to sing a Temptations song many decades ago, called “Losing You”. It opens: “Your love is fading I can feel your love fading.”

Sometimes you really have to pinch yourself and remember that the ECB is supposedly the GOVERNING BODY of what was once our National Game.

And it’s fascinating that 7 50’s is a record. After all, three in an innings is commonplace.

Perhaps the fact both others are also modern-ish shows how much more is now expected of tailenders?
