I mentioned various treasures that came to the Archive last week and we had a discussion about Bournemouth. The daughter of Mr Francis East (now 95) also brought me some lovely items, particularly relating to one of Southampton’s finest clubs, Deanery CC. He played for them for many years.

Here they are in a club photograph from 1905. In the following year (30 November 1906) it was sent, as a postcard, to a Miss Roberts in Essex. I cannot immediately recognise any of the players but they certainly did select Hampshire players occasionally – continuing to do so into the 1970s when Roy Marshall played for them.
