Hampshire Cricket History

Tomorrow is a HUGE day for Hampshire. They didn’t get the breakthrough tonight and occasions when they’ve taken 10 wickets in one day (ie fewer than 96 overs) have been very rare this season – four times against Notts and once against Yorkshire.

If Hampshire draw and (as looks possible/likely) Notts win and Durham lose, I think the table tomorrow will show

Warwicks: P 15 – Pts 156

Durham: P 14 – Pts 154

Lancs: P 14 – Pts 153

Hants: P 15 – Pts 148

Notts: P 15 – Pts 137

But if Hampshire win, they shoot up to 159 points, ahead of all those sides.

Next week, Durham (H) play Surrey and Lancashire (H) play Middlesex – neither easy games.

In the final week, Hampshire (H) play Durham and Warwickshire (H) play Lancashire. Notts are away in Taunton

Durham are dropping like a stone so they are the ones to catch which just could make our last match of the season very interesting!

This evening’s forecast is suggesting there could be occasional showers tomorrow. Let’s hope not
