(Classic early example of garage/psychedelia by LA band Love – but of course you knew that)

I had thought of walking around this match with a huge number 8 on a T-Shirt to mark the fact that this is the last time we’ll see an eighth home match (proper cricket that is – probably 88 T20 games in a couple of years)

Now I’m wondering whether (weather) the cricket Gods have taken a hand to protest themselves. It’s raining! Now you all know what that means (8.15am). If it’s raining in Pompey …

What’s more from the forecast, it’s difficult to see much sign of clouds lifting for a couple of days – and it could be showery in Birmingham. New permutations needed perhaps and it’s beginning to remind me of the end of the 2000 season, which won’t delight Warwickshire.

I’ve just realised too that 8 is not the number really – we need to 7th!

I think it’s bright enough, Durham are in the field and it is Crane for Andrew. There aren’t many here (yet?). Come on down!

Two big conferences on the ground and also parking for the hospital opposite. Not many supporters really.
