Five half-centuries and five batting points

And the game is moving on; this is the first wicket huddle and although Borthwick survived a confident appeal he didn’t last long

Now it might help if former Hampshire club cricketer Chris Wright (and his mates) would stop taking Lancashire wickets.

That’s the end of photos and live reports for today – I’ve departed and I’m immersed instead for the rest of today, in Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and others on the Isle of Wight …

No comments. Are you all getting nervous – or maybe just complacent. There are a lot of overs being bowled by the spinners but not many wickets being taken by them (Smith 13 overs?). I wonder sometimes whether cricket is played too much in the mind. Nonetheless – and despite having to watch film of Leonard Cohen and Tiny Tim this evening – I am supremely confident, optimistic and certain that everything is for the best in the best of all possible worlds.
