Hampshire Cricket History

Good Question

Mark Mitchener (BBC) whose dad once edited our Handbook has tweeted that Herath is now the 12th Test captain who has played for Hampshire, but he added that he reckoned I could get the other 11

But I can’t. Here’s what I know:

England – three official captains, CB Fry, Hon L Tennyson and KP. Any deputies?

Australia – Michael Clarke. Did Warne ever do it as a deputy?

Pakistan – Afridi and maybe Wasim Akram

No Indians for sure

West Indies – Sammy but did Gordon Greenidge ever stand in?

If yes to all those then that’s nine

Help!

PS: Silly me – forgot Gower (Doh!)

Spoken to Mark via tweet and I’ll attach the full  list on the first Comment. Have a go yourselves

Is that me or another John !!!!

Talking of Jimmy Adams is he out of contract or not and the same for Sean Ervine ?

Also Brad Taylor?

This is a guess but normally if anyone is let go or doesn’t have their contract renewed this normally happens late September/early October so I think Jimmy and Sean are fine
