Dawson in again, Vince out

Liam Dawson has been selected for England’s ODI and T20 squads v India but there is no place for James Vince. I wonder whether his international days are over in all formats, now that he has reached a cricketing ‘middle age’?

Isn’t Daws older?
However does seem if Vince out in the cold. Maybe a high scoring season will put him back in the selectors minds.

Exactly one year older – but that’s not an issue if you’re IN, it might be a problem if you’re OUT as they start looking at the younger generation (Hameed is 5+ years younger than Vince)

And untainted by county cricket.

It’s interesting that both Vince and Duckett having been found wanting in Test cricket have both been almost immediately discarded from the shorter forms of international cricket to which they would seem much more suited.

I’m surprised about Duckett who after all played one pretty fine Test innings. Vince never did, although he was better in the short stuff. They say Duckett will come again but they would wouldn’t they? Maybe another, as Paul says, tainted by county cricket.
