That young Dawson chap has certainly had an ‘interesting’ baptism in Test cricket but he’s done very well, two wickets to add to the fine innings and very tight bowling in the context – the best of the three spinners. I can’t help thinking too that he might replace Root at slip(?)
I begin to wonder how long it will be before Mason Crane is playing for England.

Or,better still, Cook. I wish I’d kept a record of the number of catches he’s dropped there. I’ve never rated him as a slip fielder.
Comment by David Wilson December 19, 2016 @ 9:42 pmSo we lose the Test series 4-0. As it was predicted we would lose 5-0 this can undoubtedly be seen as a great success and further evidence that we should further reduce the amount of Championship cricket played as we clearly don’t need to concentrate on the longer form of the game.
Comment by James December 20, 2016 @ 11:21 amGeoff Boycott says Cook should resign now. Agree?
Comment by Paul December 20, 2016 @ 12:18 pmI’m assuming he doesn’t mean the Pompey one!
Comment by Paul December 20, 2016 @ 12:19 pmVery good Paul, I’d forgotten Pompey had one too! Can’t believe he’s survived so long. He must be on his way soon, I hope.
