“This had better work”

It’s what Barney Ronay said in today’s Guardian, about England’s preparation for the Champions Trophy later this year, reflecting on the Indian tour and forthcoming fixtures. He suggested “No England team have ever been so primped and cosseted leading up to a tournament”.

I wonder what he would expect them to achieve, in order to say it worked?

Meanwhile exciting news from the BBC today that KP is not putting himself up for the IPL because he wants to go “home”. Might that means he’s availableĀ from the start of the English season …

Are you suggesting we sign him?

Would I Paul?

I rather hoped by home he meant South Africa.

Forget KP – what about MC.

I’ve just had a look at the player statistics at Gordon District CC in Sydney.

Number 1 in the bowling table: Mason Crane, 21 matches, 55 wickets @ 21.71 (3 x 5WI), best bowling 7/93.

Number 6 in the batting table: Mason Crane, 21 matches, 509 runs @33.93, HS 80, 5 x 50.

How soon will we lose him to the England set-up and not see him at the AB very often?
