Tom Alsop scored 15 today and went (again) to a man described on-line as a “useful, part-time” off spinner. I suspect they will lose this one, meanwhile India v Aussies is once again most interesting.

. . and Mason Crane is in the New South Wales squad as an overseas player. The first since Imran Kahn, says Radio Solent.

He’s going to be a star I think – but maybe not one who plays much in the future for Hampshire?

I was sceptical when Dale Benkenstein labelled him “world class” but….?

You were quite right to be Ian. Mason was then and is now hugely promising but world class? Hardly.

But hopefully one day when he has a hundred or so Test wickets behind him he will be.

Confirmed on Hampshire Cricket website. I bet Sussex Cricket are kicking themselves for dropping him when he was aged 14! Well done Mason.
