They’re winning again by the look of things – the North need 13 per over from the last seven. Dawson has been a star with 83, two wickets and so far, the best economy rate. Vince scored 46, Alsop sadly failed (one) and Crane was omitted.

Happen we’ll need the full squad with Liam and Vince maybe away.

Meanwhile, in the Caribbean . .

Jimmy Adams and Michael Carberry smashed 129 in less than 12 overs against Durham Uni with Adams hitting six sixes, and Carberry ten. Adams scored 85 and Carberry 78 as Hampshire made 255-8 off 30 overs.
Brad Taylor took 6-20 as Durham were 115 all out.

So it’s looking clear to me. Dry pitches at the Bowl, three spinners, Topley and Abbott leading the 2nd XI attack …

Comment by pompeypop

You mean the ECB will allow us to play Topley?

Comment by James

Duff info on the sixes (3 and 4) – rest is ok, though . .

Comment by Bob Elliott

Don’t worry Bob – thanks for the info. Buy his book!!

Comment by pompeypop

Ah, good point James! OK Fidel and Abbott. They’ll do well for the 2nds who have not won that title for a few years …

(I can’t keep this up can I?)

Comment by pompeypop

If only Elvis Costello played cricket!

Comment by James

Then we really would be the Wheal Deal, with Hart & Sole AND Abbott & Costello …

Comment by pompeypop

I see that from the Hampshire scorecard against Durham Uni’s that in addition to Chris Sole that Billy Root (Joe’s brother) was listed along with a Jack Blatherwaite (Notts). Is the island about to sink with all these players ……

Comment by John Cottrell

Isn’t this the new form of T20 where 20 refers to the number of players on each side? (Designed to protect the poor players from exhaustion during the game).

Comment by James

Is it panto season? OH YES YOU CAN!

Comment by John West

It’s always Panto season where I live John! What’s that behind you?

Comment by pompeypop

I suspect that with our players involved in North v South and MCC v Champion County, we borroeed a few Notts players

Comment by Ageas

Start delayed in Match 3 of North v South.
As they say in Abu Dhabi “If you can see the sand dunes it’s about to rain, and if you can’t, it has already started.”.

Comment by Hedgehog

Very good! It’s about to start, South batting, 40 overs (Sunday League)

Comment by pompeypop

All four Hampshire guys in the South’s team. None in the North though (I tend to think of Basingstoke as the north)
