What’s the link between George Orwell and Gordon Greenidge?

(It’s not that they both wrote a book either!)

PS Terry Crump very complete answer and Dave E (welcome) brief hint at same thing. Well done both

I did say “daft” however, so my answer is that he scored 1984runs for Hampshire

See, I said you’d hate it.

Thanks for your welcome , Have been following this great site for a few years now and must compliment you on your facts, history, thoughts and news, coming from Aldershot i keep the flag flying up here and get more new fans to come down each year as its a great day out for the youngsters and gets them interested in Cricket ,Just wished it was advertised a bit better up here as i think the younger generation are missing out..keep up the great work .
