I Can’t Stand It

(Happens to be a fine slice of old R&B by the Soul Sisters, covered by the excellent Spencer Davis Group)

Mrs A and I are off for a thoroughly transcendental day in Glastonbury today, ignoring the cricket.

But if anything dramatic happens, you discover more records, or you feel the need for a cathartic unloading of angst, stick it all on here. Tigger and Jeremy have found two excellent occasions when we recovered from similar disasters to win, I can’t get over the thought that for the first time we fielded a Top Six of Test cricketers (18-5!) and there’s also the fact that only once have we forced a side to follow-on and LOST. It was against Essex (Bournemouth), so maybe we can reverse that this time.

Sorry to labour the point but Rossouw isn’t a Test cricketer.

Oops! Sufficiently underwhelmed by yet another foreigner, I just assumed. Thanks James

Kevan will be even more grumpy now 10 – 1 following on. Porter is virtually unplayable!

Can’t play the seaming, swinging ball, nor the spinning one either!
40 for 4.

Given our start in the Championship I thought we would do well against Essex.
Even allowing for the conditions the batting was poor. A run out how bad is that!
