The 10 from Chelmsford (Edwards doesn’t count) plus Adams, Holland and Topley. I guess Topley is a certain straight swop for Edwards, and if the other two do play, then maybe Adams for Carberry (six consecutive single figure scores) and perhaps Holland for Ervine? I’m assuming Crane stays if Taunton still turns.

And rain looks likely.

Maybe Saturday at the Beefy Bowl . . . . .

Well I guess you pays your money and takes your choice. For a couple of days (including just now), the BBC have been predicting thunder and heavy rain on Saturday morning, sweeping in from the west and then going north, then the chance of showers through Sunday. Of course we might not need the fourth day …

Incidentally, talking of Weather(ley) I see no Joe today – maybe the first team tomorrow?

I noticed Somerset picked three spinners and three seamers (including Trego who hardly bowls these days) for last week’s game so they were clearly expecting it to turn although it doesn’t seemed to have turned out that way if you will excuse the pun.

Hampshire batting first.

I know that some batsmen are out of form (if not all) but why do Hampshire persist with makeshift opening batsman…….

They tried this experiment before and it didn’t work out. Maybe Ervine needs to be rested so Daws can come in 5/6.

I rest my case…..
At least Ervine will not be too tired to carry the helmets up and down the wicket later….
Dawson is a middle order batsman.
Rossouw gets a hat trick of zeros.
What are the coaching staff doing…time for changes me thinks…
Are Wheal, Stevenson still injured and Wood (imho) will not play FC cricket again.
Unfortunately, my domestic situation prevents me seeing much of this season and am I glad……
