It’s 5pm, Crane bowling and Surrey 53-0. It’s been a remarkable day and there are some records and facts below, but it’s a bit full to bursting now, so here’s another ‘thread’. I’ve rather enjoyed it and I’ve rather dominated it. Over to you.

I didn’t hear the Surrey wicket. Is ‘Slug’ bowling pace or spin?

Spin Dave.

Cheers James. It’s going to be tough to get 20 wickets I guess – and rain looks possible on Thursday.

Indeed. I’m just wondering by Thursday evening whether we will regard Cheltenham as being a better cricket wicket than The Oval or Beckenham?

Hants opening bowlers started with three that became two close catchers and a ring of run savers; rather defensive in a way and playing it long I guess.

648 for 7! Just savouring a score that simply wasn’t possible last year. Great stuff, boys.

They must set attacking fields – we scored over 600 runs and surely cannot lose.

On a lighter note Beefys has surpassed itself and has an evening with BAR on 18 July. £50 for a 3 course meal, only place you will see two Hampshire openers!

Brilliant Paul! – and James will be delighted

I am (almost) speechless in delight!
