… had I posted ‘Shack’ below, than the rain started in Pompey – and you know that if it’s “a rainy day in Pompey, it must be raining all over the world …”

So, nothing else to ‘Blog’ then?

Until I turned to the back page of the Guardian Sports section to find this – including the highlighted quote from Trevor Bayliss. I’m not sure how many Guardian readers there are out there, so I thought I should share it.

which begs the question if we are happy to add more Kolpaks to challenge for trophies are we also happy to get rid of some Kolpaks in order to challenge for trophies?

Counties receive cash incentives for fielding up to nine English-qualified players.

They get more for up to three Under-26 players (£1,200 per match for each player) and more still if they are under 22 (£2,000 per player, per match).

There is no question that Rod Bransgrove has paid for the right to impose any policy he wishes on Hampshire Cricket plc, just as supporters have the right to choose, as a consequence, whether they find the emerging ‘identity’ of the county club commensurate with what matters to them in the expression of that support.
