Oh joy! After 40 minutes, Chris has our Sole wicket today and Gloucs, leading by two runs on first innings, are 79-2. No action yet for Tom or Jerry, and more Sole than Hart.

12.35: Gloucs 120-3 and Chris Sole has all three. Taylor and Scriven have just come into the attack – Tavaré is resisting effectively.

Lunch: 142-4, Brad Taylor has dismissed Tavaré (It only takes a minute and now Heaven must be missing a Batsman)

2.30 Hampshire about to set off in pursuit of 248 to win after Gloucs declared with seven wkts lost – three to Sole and two each to Taylor and Will Smith.

Approaching Tea: Will Smith has gone for 12, Alsop is 27*, Holland 10* and Hampshire 53-1.

Later: Hampshire 248-5 (Alsop 106*, Holland 43, Organ 36) won by five wickets.

PS: Two former Hampshire cricketers were playing in the Surrey v Essex game tonight – the Surrey one made a ‘fifty’ and they won, which brings them level with Hampshire on six points but having played two more matches. The Essex wicketkeeper was out first ball.

PPS: Michael Lumb has announced his retirement. The South African-born son of Yorkshire’s Richard, played first for his father’s county, signed for us, then moved on to Nottinghamshire. He is 37.
