121-5 after 17.3 overs. Latest wickets: Holland for 21 and (the almost forgotten?) Chris Wood for one. Tom Alsop has a half century and is still going.

It’s 143-7 with three balls left but the score has frozen. Maybe they’re off for a lion on the Golf Course? Alsop is facing and 55*, otherwise only Dickinson (22) and Holland (21) reached 20. The Test Match has been the real stuff, once the tail-ender was dismissed.

145-8 from 20 overs, Alsop batted through for 56*.

Middlesex 66-1 from 8 overs. Wheal has the wicket but he and Sole going at more than 10 runs per over.

Middlesex need just 40 from the last six and still just one down. Someone called R White, who I’m sure played for them about 60 years ago, is going well.

Middlesex won by nine wickets (T Lace also scored well) with eight balls remaining and the winning run came from the fourth ball of Salisbury’s FIFTH over
