Any clues?

It’s almost 7pm and there’s nothing from the online commentary. The online information is that the match is delayed but there will be an inspection at 6.30pm. Is that 6.30pm tomorrow?

Of course the moment I posted that, it changed. Play to start at 7.15pm.

7.15 Start. Hants bowling . .

It always seems so obvious to me that when they lose the first scheduled 45 minutes they cut one over from each side

Wood, Crane, Dawson in for Afridi, Ervine and Wheal.

Why did Wood bowl all his 4 overs when others who conceded less runs not bowl their quota. Abbott has not too successful in this or previous T20 matches…only saying…

Comment by John Cottrell

Woody was doing alright, but his last over went for 29!

Comment by Bob Elliott

Oh dear…..

I hadn’t realised Topley is so posh. (Here endeth my interest in T20).

Next captain for sure

Since I haven’t seen one game this year I can’t make any observations about Abbott or anyone else, except through the stats. John suggests he’s been expensive this season which seems right, despite a magnificent Championship season. In T-20 matches it’s been: 4 overs/48 runs; 4/22; 4/35; 3/28; 3/27; 4/41; 3/45. Overall his economy rate is 9.84 per over, and he has seven wickets from those seven matches.

Wides and no balls too. Not a good set of performances

Comment by Ageas

It’s very odd because it seems to me (from a distance) as though his all-round Championship performances are up there with the best in Hampshire’s history. Maybe the white ball curse?
