This weather’s not great is it? Notts batted tonight but Leicestershire never took their turn. There have been 78 T20 matches so far this year, and in addition to a number of D/L results, 15 of the matches have ended in No Result – that’s 19%.

A quick count, 7 D/L results, 4 with a second “innings” of sub 10 overs.

So 22/78, 28% weather impacted.

Luckily for the punters, 11 of the 15 No Results have been near or total washouts, so they’ll have got their money back.

Obviously the ECB will be distraught that their decision to return to a block format will have damaged the brand, so soon before the launch of their competing “product”.

That thought occurred to me too!

On the double barrelled lob bowler, I just came across SF Barnes Test strike rate – 41.6, so even he was slower than him as well!
