Hampshire might well have qualified by the time they play their final game v Somerset but I think it is still possible for all nine teams to qualify.

Hampshire have 15 points with one to play (max 17) but mathematically Glams, Somerset & Gloucs can all reach 18, although Glams play Somerset so they can’t both do that.

Gloucs play Essex, Middx and Surrey, all below them, and so perhaps best placed?

Sussex, Surrey and Essex can all reach 16 points – except again, that Sussex have two games v Essex & Surrey so something has to give.

Kent can only finish level with Hampshire on 15 points and Hampshire’s run-rate is far superior (to everyone). Kent play Somerset, Surrey and Essex – it would suit Hampshire for Kent to beat Somerset tomorrow.

I’m not sure about Middlesex. They are worst placed as they can only get 14 points (could they finish 4th?). They cannot catch Hampshire, so wins against Gloucs and Glams would be useful.

If Hampshire do beat Somerset they will have won the first three and the last three but only two of the eight matches in the middle (one abandoned).
