Hampshire’s lowest T20 is 85 … It’s now 35-7

I’ve had a late afternoon of art, very pleasant, and then watched a bit of a thriller as Belgium beat Brazil, then switched to see England win the T20 in the final over and Alex Hales was the batting hero

I wouldn’t normally care over much, but here’s a true story: I was working in my art studio today at the Hotwalls, Old Portsmouth – Friday is my regular day. At around midday, a lady came in to have a look round and said she was pleased to be in a cool studio (fan blowing) rather than the heat. So we chatted about 2018, and 1976 and this-and-that, and I observed that as a cricket lover, I enjoy good weather.

And she said “my grandson’s a cricketer”

And I said, “is that locally?”

And she said, “No for England”

And showed me a photo of her son and grandson

Alex Hales!

86-8 so not Hampshire’s lowest. Lowest v Glams is 114-9.

Past 100 now, so at least five of our scores in T20 have been lower …

105 all out is one run lower than Hampshire’s lowest ever score v Canada in the T20. Not a lot of people knew that!
