PS I shall soon publish an updated list of corrections to the A-Z (there are not too many more). This one is not a correction, but an addition. HE Webb played just one match for Hampshire, v Oxford University and I have noted that in 1948 he won his ‘blue’ with the students. I might have added that he scored 145* in an innings victory for his side.

The weather’s quite nice isn’t it? And how many county cricket teams are playing on the first three days of this week? Two (one match)
