It’s None of My Business

(since I didn’t go) and I’ve been out with pals this evening, but (10.10pm) just home to see what looks like a bit of a thumping? What’s to be done about Abbott I wonder; player of the season in 2017? It’s an odd thing since the signings of Abbott and Rossouw were controversial, that broadly speaking, at any given moment since they signed, one of them has been in form, and the other hasn’t.

PS: Hampshire lost their first two T20 games in 2004, and 2012 (when they won the third v Kent). They’ve never lost the first three.

Well bowled Danny?

As someone who hates to be negative I’m afraid to say he is looking terribly out of sorts 😔

Mind you, early days I know, but he’s one of just two Hampshire batsmen in the top 80 of the T20 averages! (Alsop is the other). Meanwhile Rilee has a most interesting record – he’s faced three balls, been dismissed twice, and scored six!

So do you all expect any changes tonight? Weatherley, Ervine and Stevenson are also in the squad.

and Gareth Southgate as manager!

Abbott was poor to say the least, with Vince clearly reluctant to use him. Wood was little better with a flurry of wides and long hops. Overall a hugely disappointing night again with the batting, after an explosive start, playing a series of rash shots and not showing the discipline in accumulation that Luke Wright displayed so well.

Hampshire has produced the 8th most England World Cup Footballers of any County http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/fifa-world-cup/revealed-which-english-counties-have-supplied-the-most-world-cup-players-ever/ss-AAA0pzs?cid=ientp#image=10

Need a few more in Cricket!

Maybe the “forgotten” man Ryan Stevenson and/or Ian Holland will now be drafted in? Worryingly,Kyle Abbott has seemed to be suffering from the fast bowler’s version of the “yips” since April. Meanwhile, Fidel Edwards has been surprisingly economical in several games for Winnipeg. Will either Steyn or Amla be back when the Championship resumes?

Comment by Ian White

This is how Big Bill Werbeniuk tried to deal with his ‘yips’. “I’ve had 24 pints of extra-strong lager and eight double vodkas and I’m still not drunk.”

Comment by David Nicholls

And I believe he even claimed tax relief on his drinks as a “business expense”!.
