The Vipers lost again and are now at the foot of their table, but Kent’s victory means Hampshire are one place better, with Essex still bottom.

There are now four sides who are at least three wins ahead of Hampshire, who have only six matches left. In addition, since a number of remaining matches are between the top sides they will in effect go still further ahead.

It’s hard to believe that Hampshire can afford more than one more defeat.

Two of our ‘old boys’ did well tonight in the Middlesex v Sussex game, won by Sussex. Tom Barber & Danny Briggs both bowled four overs with Briggs taking 2-23 and Barber a T20 best of 4-28.

And we have named an unchanged squad, could do with Ian Holland and Calvin Dickinson being brought in in my opinion.

Almost a case of ‘might as well’ and see how good they are. Hardly any point in being keeper number three, which is why Dickinson left Essex, after Wheater returned.

If only Sean Ervine was still with us.

Oh wait a minute ……

To all intents and purposes he isn’t with us – at least the first team.

My point exactly Paul!

Curious that the Vipers strengthened this season with transfers in yet are performing poorly. Last two seasons virtually unbeatable this season fodder for the other teams.
