A Cracker!!

England have just held a slip catch (!) and won the Test.

What a cracker. They keep talking about the 1,000 matches – special ones for me are obvious really; Lord’s 1963 and a couple of Ashes games in both 1981 and 2005 (of course) but I reckon this would be up there.

I guess one of the losing team will be Man-of-the-Match?

(I can go to the Wickham Festival now)

Thanks Paul, that was an essential post.
(Of course I expect to see low cost test cricket at Southampton as a result of my efforts!)

Ollie Pope called into the England squad with the second highest ever batting average after 15 games. The only batsman ever to have a higher average after 15 games – Adi Amyes! http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/24263077/fast-learner-ollie-pope-makes-rapid-strides-towards-england-contention

Great stat Sean. I’ve given copies of my A-Z to some of our players – when Adi read that I called him a “useful batsman” I got a lecture on his batting career!
