Is McManus in (for Berg) as a bowler? It says that Alsop is keeping wicket.

PS My mistake, McManus in for Steyn. Why didn’t he take the new ball? Looks like a real ‘fun’ afternoon and yet another ‘No Result’ in this beautiful summer!

PPS Not such a thrilling Test Match. England lost just seven wickets, and won by an innings & 159 runs, despite not one of their five ‘specialist’ batsmen reaching 30. Top scorers were two bowling all-rounders and the wicketkeeper. Unprecedented? (None of India’s top six reached 30 in either innings)

At the end of today, that makes nine ‘No Results’ in 52 matches in the Southern Group. That equals the number in 2017 and is one less than the highest number, 10, in 2011

Looks like Middlesex may go ahead of us in the table by the rather underhand tactic of playing a match. Is that allowed? Ah well, we should come out of the T20 with a trophy*, without the hassle of a day at dreary Edgbaston. (*the wooden spoon)

Middlesex have just lost with three balls left so not only are we not bottom, we’ve actually gained a point on them. Go boys!

That strategy of not playing is paying off. (Btw thanks to an ex-Hampshire player for the antepenultimate over)
