I was thinking that would be on Sunday, seven weeks and one day since I last watched Hampshire (at Lord’s), but I have to go in tomorrow morning to sort out some things for Sunday, so thanks to Jeremy for the alert about the 2nd XI v Middlesex. It appears the pitch is behaving rather better:

Hampshire 423 all out (Abbott 147, Hart 99, Soames 60 – and ‘Hampshire’s’ Rayner 2-32)

Middlesex at lunch today 317-3, although one of the three is Simpson, retired out – Edwards 12-1-57-0; Abbott 11-1-36-0

Now 363-3 although another (real) wicket has fallen (down) to A Dale (we need someone called Hill now). Searle and Hart have the others while lots of batsmen have nearly scored centuries.

Around teatime: 420-3, Fidel going at nearly five-an-over. A bloke called Andersson has a century (+).

4.30: Rayner c&b Currie 56; Middlesex ahead now, four down.

Actually I’ve just seen the forecast for tomorrow morning, when I’m going over – it might be seven weeks and a day until my next cricket!

I was going to post the CoP score separately but the site is playing up. Middlesex declared on 482-5 – neither Abbott nor Edwards took a wicket. Hampshire are 102-2, Organ and Hart out.
