Earlier in the season I informed folks about a new project commemorating the First World War in a rather different way from the centenary focus of the past four years.

Many men who had played county cricket for Hampshire went off to fight in the Great War, and 23 of them – more than any other county – did not return. Their names are honoured on the board in the Atrium but in this new ‘Thank You’ project, Hampshire Cricket has joined with the Royal British Legion to acknowledge also those who kept the club alive from 1914-1918, and those who returned from War to rebuild the club, the sport and the country.

The main focus was always going to be around the match v Nottinghamshire, so tomorrow you will see various things around the ground including a presentation from the Royal British Legion.

Come and say hello and check it out
