Maybe Fourth?

Dale Steyn’s dismissal of Trescothick was his 600th first-class wicket and Nick tells us that he is off home now. When I was on air with Kevan on Monday we discussed whether he would play both the last two games so he knew nothing then and I can’t find a report about it anywhere. Is it right? It might make quite a difference – maybe fourth not third?

Meanwhile, instead of spending a couple more days at the cricket I’ll be checking the online scores from Headingley and Worcester. Wins for Yorkshire & Surrey would suit best, but neither are favourites right now.

Apart from the sheer novelty of an easy end to the season, if things were pretty well resolved over the next two days, it might offer the chance for Hampshire to stick with ‘Olly’ & Joe, play Donald, maybe Stevenson (etc) and start thinking about next year. I’ve no idea incidentally whether Rilee will be back this year.
