Not Danny’s Day

I spent yesterday as Best Man to my oldest pal (64+ years) at a very jolly wedding in Southsea, so today I have a bit of a thick head, but I’ve caught up with the scores from T20 Finals Day, having managed with little effort to ignore the whole thing yesterday.

I see that Danny Briggs bowled OK and effected a run out in the semi-final, then returned very good figures but was on the losing side in the Final. At least he has been a winner in the past. The weather in Pompey yesterday was terrific so I’m assuming even Birmingham avoided the usual Finals Day’s soggy skies?

Big game at Hove this week, but Sussex need to smash Warwicks to keep in the hunt for promotion. Otherwise it will be Warwicks & Kent v Hampshire next season.

Interestingly Warwickshire have Kent and Sussex in their last 2 games, but Sussex have to thrash Warwickshire to stay in the chase. Hove would be a preferable venue to Edgbaston. However, first things first – windy, then wet, Headingley this week
