used to bowl a lot of Maidens, but we’ve just signed our first (ever) Aiden:

Aiden Markram (he is incidentally another Kyle – AKM)

17 Tests: 1,358 runs average 43.80, four x 100s (HS 152)

58 first-class matches, 4,102 runs average 43.63, ten x 100s (HS 182)

18 ODIs, 503 runs, average 29.58

48 List A matches, 1,925 runs, average 42.77, six x 100s (HS 183)

He bowls a bit in white balls, he’s 24 and he’s another good-looking, charming Libran

A bloke called Abbott …

Mind you, he was missing from the team photos this week and apparently has a visa issue – probably not serious.

Or a bloke called Berg …

Looks like a decent signing, will be interesting to see where he will bat in the order with Vince apparently opening.

“A charming Libran” – just like me then although hopefully not as grumpy!

I have a resident Astrologer to advise me James. I too am one of those “charming Librans” (remember my big falling-out with Hampshire a couple of years ago?). In fact the scales show us as the only inanimate sign, and far from being ‘balanced’, it’s the condition we seek, while adapting badly to being thrown ‘out of balance’.

Other charming Librans include Margaret Thatcher, Geoff Boycott, John Lennon & Vladimir Putin – oh and I nearly forgot, our Prime Minister (No Brexit here!!). So James, we’re in it together!

Blimey!

By my reckoning, the first Hants player with a palindromic surname since the three members of the Ede family (George, Edward Sr & Edward Jr) more than a century ago…

Brilliant Mark! Great spot

That’s the stat of the season already Mark!
