Just now … (BBC) “Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden says, competitive sport will be allowed behind closed doors in England from 1 June, paving the way for the first live action in almost three months …”

Horse Racing ‘kicks off’ on Monday apparently

So, why did cricket decide to delay county cricket until 1 August just a couple of days ago? And will the ECB stick to that?

Just on your comment below about HC having 4,700 members – isn’t that FAR more than was thought before – even if many are “free” Juniors?

Nick Hoult had an article a few weeks back about Cricket suddenly working out members were the people it relied on for something like £10-15m pa.

Maybe the penny has finally dropped that if the ECB treat “us” with contempt “we” might actually ask for our money back, IF they deliberately chose to prioritise “cricket” that is of no interest to “us”, however sympathetic we might otherwise be to “them” for the plight we’ve been put in?

Let’s hope it has. I think counting was never that accurate. And I trust this is right. For some time they would omit Life Members for example. I wonder though whether being a member will be such a big deal in future generations (there were times when we had more than 7000). Season tickets for T20 & the 100 perhaps?
