Today’s Points Might Matter ‘Double’?

Or at least x 1.5. It’s Hampshire v Gloucestershire today, both played two, won two and if they were to head the group and go into Division One, they would not play each other again, but half the points from these preliminary games will be carried forward.

Gloucestershire have to date beaten two of the fancied sides, Surrey and Somerset, whereas I guess it’s reasonable to assume that Hampshire’s two victims, Leicestershire and Middlesex are unlikely to make Division One in September.

Below: Holland who is batting very nicely again, takes runs from Goodman and Taylor.

We’re batting first again – and for those of you overseas, it’s still a bit chilly but sunny – no prospect of rain for the next four days

Hampshire unchanged but three changes for Gloucs – we think van Buren is suddenly ineligible ref overseas/home status. They don’t really have a spin bowler

Some more info on van Buuren. Seems very unfortunate for him and Gloucestershire.
