Missed It!

I’m in the middle of a crazy phase right now – hardly half-a-day free in nine days although I am looking forward to the start of the new season on Monday.

I saw not a ball of the Test Match on the first two days – they tell me England were quite good. I got home yesterday afternoon and watched the last two sessions during which time India scored lots of runs and we took one umpire’s call wicket. The weather was real Yorkshire ‘sunshine’ and the crowd bonkers.

Well the good news is I’m likely to miss the next two days for a Festival in Pompey (Madness last night) so maybe England will sort themselves out. I did listen in yesterday morning and heard one fascinating ‘stat’: James Anderson has not yet taken a second innings wicket in this series. Will that change today?

I guess some of you are off to the Lashings ‘do’? Have fun.

So, Anderson took his wicket, England got loads more and again I didn’t see a ball bowled. Still it worked!

Let’s say You helped England be Victorious. I watched a little of the lashings match on the live stream, a hundred for shah and fuller smashed it about for hants. Henry blofeld did a few overs with Kev and that was enjoyable

Very good! Kev and Henry – sorry I missed that. Were there many there?

It was lovely to see Jimmy, Sean & James back in Hampshire colours & a very good 100 from Owais Shah

Sir Gordon is in the Lashings squad for 2021 so it’s a pity he wasn’t in the team for this match as it would have triggered some fond memories for some in the crowd. He will however be playing in Wormsley on Monday in the Barnardo’s Cup.

Abbas not available for tomorrow‘s game. A chance for Currie perhaps?

Well I think that’s bonkers. Why are we flying someone from Pakistan to play a maximum of three matches – and if things don’t go well over the next four days we could be way behind the top two places by Friday

Or flip it round, a win this week and we can bring in a bowler averaging 17 this season to power us to a Championship…

Personally think it’s worth it. He’s quality.

To be fair Dave the whole Championship season is bonkers!

Re attendance: about 1000-1500 I think Kev estimated.

Thanks Michael. Incidentally anyone know whether attendance records continue to be broken in the Vipers games?
