The Hampshire Cricket website tells us that for the two T20 matches this week, Hampshire have the same 14-man squad as last week, including their two new signings “Colin Munro and Mujeeb Ur Rahman”.
I was asked last week how I might list our new Afghan player in any updating of the A-Z.
Cricket Archive have him under M. They do, however, call him Mujeeb Zadran
Who knows?
(Incidentally, my dry cleaning and hoovering session has been cancelled so I don’t have to go. I might manage to miss them all this year)
PS Last ball ‘thriller’ at Bristol, where Gloucs beat Kent. It means that tomorrow’s opponents Sussex are the only unbeaten Southern team.

I’ve been digging into naming style guides (again).
If Cricket Archive are listing him as Mujeeb Zadran – Zadran being the family name, like his cricketing uncle – then I believe they should be alphabetizing him under Z.
However if his naming preference is Mujeeb Ur Rahman – which is a pair of compounded personal names – then alphabetizing under M appears to be the convention.
Comment by Hedgehog July 11, 2018 @ 5:31 pmI have currently listed him under U, I think I better change it to M.
Comment by Tigger Miles July 12, 2018 @ 6:04 amYes, you should switch to M. The “Ur” is a construction used to compound two names. “Al” is used similarly in the name of the current Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan.
Comment by Hedgehog July 12, 2018 @ 12:20 pmMeanwhile in proper cricket our 2nd XI are playing a three-day Championship game away to Surrey. We scored 450-8 dec (Organ 189, wicket-keeper Wood 54 and Holland 51), Surrey replied with 250-2 (Scriven 2-42) and we closed on 65 without loss in our second innings.

Thanks James. Interesting to see Harry Came playing for us. He’s a Hampshire age group boy whose dad is on our Members’ Committee (and related to the Middlesex Robbins) but Harry has been playing for Kent 2nd XI.
Comment by pompeypop July 11, 2018 @ 9:27 pmIncidentally their ‘keeper JL Smith held six catches of our eight wickets. Could be a 2nd XI record for a midweek in July with England in a World Cup semi-final.
