Sussex 2nd XI 328 (Rogers 91, Barker 3-55, Trodd 2-43, Organ 2-91 plus one each for Martin, Basey & Gordon)

Hampshire started 11 behind and were soon 15-4. Organ made 40 and Kelly is 35* – at the close Hampshire 118-5 are 107 ahead

A 25 run victory over Sussex. Wickets shared between 4 bowlers in the Sussex 2nd innings.

Ashman top-scored for Hampshire with 48, Kelly 36 (bowled by Campbell) and Trodd retired hurt with a broken arm and is out for the season. Sussex all out 170 – Martin 3-18; Davis 3-34; Kelly 2-37; Organ 2-60.

RE: Trodd injury, that’s 2 broken arms and a shoulder fracture between the first and second team within six weeks. That seems like a lot, I can’t remember it happening too frequently the last ten years
